Wall Street executives to discuss U.S. financial climate at "Word on Wall Street" Nov. 21

Wall Street executives will share their experiences in the financial management sector and answer audience questions about the state of the U.S. financial climate during “The Word on Wall Street” Nov. 21, 6 p.m., at the University of Richmond’s Queally Hall, Ukrop Auditorium.

Paul Queally, co-president and member of the management committee of Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe, will moderate a panel of three executives.

Queally received a bachelor of arts degree from Richmond in 1986 and an MBA from Columbia Business School in 1990. He was a general partner at The Sprout Group, Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette’s private equity group, prior to joining Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe in 1996. He is also a member of the Richmond board of trustees.

Panelists will include:

  • Rob Blandford, president and chief investment officer of Spider Management Company, LLC. Blandford received a B.S. in business from Richmond and an MBA from Virginia Commonwealth University. Previously he served as senior portfolio manager at Lowe, Brockenbrough & Co.
  • Robert Edwards, executive vice president of corporate development of NGP Energy Capital Management. Edwards received a B.S. in mechanical engineering from Tulane University and dual petroleum engineering and management degrees in 1993 and 1994 from Stanford University. He has more than 30 years of experience and is a leading specialist in the natural resources industry.
  • Carlos García, chairman and managing partner of Victoria Capital Partners, an independent private equity firm focused on investments in South America. García graduated as a certified public accountant from the Catholic University of Argentina in 1981 and serves as vice chairman of the Argentina Private Equity and Venture Capital Association and as a board member of the Ronald McDonald House Charities in Argentina.
