Athlete, business owner Brian Jordan to be C-Suite Conversation guest
Brian Jordan, a two-sport professional athlete and founder of Gameface Apparel, will participate in a C-Suite Conversation Jan. 16, 8 a.m., at the University of Richmond’s Robins School of Business. The program will be held in Queally Hall, Ukrop Auditorium. It is free and open to the public, but registration is required.
C-Suite Conversations are unscripted interviews with regional business decision makers and leaders. The series highlights challenges and opportunities of high-level executives and provides insight about how they balance leadership obligations with the needs of stakeholders.
Richard Coughlan, senior associate dean of the Robins School and director of The Richmond MBA, will interview Jordan.
A 1989 Richmond graduate, Jordan is one of only a few two-sport professional athletes, competing for 15 years in Major League Baseball, most notably with the Atlanta Braves, and three years in the National Football League with the Atlanta Falcons. Jordan is also an Emmy award-winning sports analyst for FOX Sports South, a recurring broadcast personality for the MLB Network, Sports South and ESBN, and a lead analyst for the Atlanta Braves.
In his transition from professional sports, Jordan founded the Brian Jordan Foundation in 1998, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide useful information, resources and tools to help and support young people and their families. Jordan is a best-selling children’s book author, having released three books focusing on overcoming obstacles and fears. He is also the founder of Gameface Apparel, a sportswear and apparel company.
Jordan serves on the Morehouse School of Medicine board and is an ambassador and public advocate for the YMCA, The American Diabetes Association and Boy Scouts of America. He has received the Boy Scouts Peach of an Athlete Role Model award and was inducted into the Virginia and University of Richmond halls of fame.
