Yale professor will discuss distinguishing cultural, religious leaders from icons

Kathryn Lofton, professor of religious studies, American studies, history and divinity at Yale University, will discuss what distinguishes a cultural or religious leader from an icon April 10, 4:30 p.m., in Weinstein Hall, Brown-Alley Room, at University of Richmond.

The talk, “The Leadership of Silence: Twentieth-Century Cultural Icons and the Volume of Quiet,” will compare cultural leaders such as Oprah Winfrey, Bob Dylan, the Dalai Lama, Jackie Kennedy and more.
