University of Richmond's Katie Gilstrap named among '100 Influential Leaders' by Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business

Katie Gilstrap, co-founder of Lift Simplified Caregiving and adjunct professor in University of Richmond’s Robins School of Business’ Executive Education program, has been named one of the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business’s (AACSB) 100 Influential Leaders.

AACSB consists of 1,450 educational institutions, businesses and organizations devoted to the worldwide promotion of higher education in business administration and management. The Influential Leaders program recognizes business schools that help develop alumni who demonstrate an innovative mindset, show an entrepreneurial spirit, make significant business impact and provoke dramatic community or social change.

Gilstrap was chosen among nominees from 127 accredited institutions within 20 industries.

“We are delighted to see Katie recognized by AACSB,” said Nancy Bagranoff, dean of the Robins School of Business, who nominated Gilstrap.  “As a successful entrepreneur who uses her business acumen to improve the lives of others, Katie provides an excellent example of the great work our alumni do.”

In 2011, Gilstrap founded Lift Simplified Caregiving, a national, web-based business providing information for people who must unexpectedly care for an aging loved one. The business offers expert advice on subjects related to caregiving, materials for families to stay organized and evaluation tools to help them make important decisions.

Gilstrap earned her bachelor’s degree from William and Mary and a Master of Business Administration from University of Richmond.

She is also a regular instructor in the Institute on Philanthropy at the University of Richmond School of Professional and Continuing Studies and a member of the Institute’s advisory board.
