University of Richmond featured in Princeton Review Book, 'Colleges that Pay You Back: 2016 Edition'

University of Richmond is one of the nation's best colleges for students seeking a superb education with great career preparation and at an affordable price according to The Princeton Review.

The education services company features the school in the 2016 edition of its just published book, “Colleges That Pay You Back: The 200 Schools That Give You the Best Bang for Your Tuition Buck.”

University of Richmond is need blind in admission and meets the full demonstrated need of all traditional undergraduate students. In its “Bang for Your Buck” section, the Princeton Review noted, that Richmond “invests a tremendous amount of time and money in making it possible for lower- and middle-income students” to attend. Nearly half of students receive need-based financial aid, with an average award of more than $41,000.

Virginians who qualify for financial aid and have a family income of $60,000 or less receive an aid package equal to full tuition and room and board without loans.

“We are committed to equity and access in higher education. One of the ways that we can pursue that goal is to recruit accomplished students without regard to the ability to pay, and make certain they have the financial aid necessary to join our community,” said President Ronald A. Crutcher.

Richmond also implemented in 2015 “The Richmond Guarantee,” which guarantees funding of up to $4,000 for one summer research or internship experience for traditional undergraduate students before graduation. “These opportunities help ensure that all students can gain the experiences they need to fulfill their professional or graduate school aspirations.” Crutcher said.
