'Trick or Treat Street' returns to University of Richmond Oct. 23; community Halloween-themed event benefits FeedMore

October 18, 2016

University of Richmond is hosting the 18th annual “Trick or Treat Street” Oct. 23 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. This safe, daytime Halloween event is free and open to the community.

The student-led service event takes place on Westhampton Green on Keller Road, which is off of College Road. Parking will be available on Crenshaw Way, across from the Jepson Alumni Center.

Local families can enjoy food from Firehouse BBQ food truck, a bouncy obstacle course and other holiday-themed activities, including the straw maze, presented by costume-clad University of Richmond students.

New this year, this event will feature a baby animal petting zoo and a cotton candy machine.

"Trick or Treat Street is one of the most unique events on Richmond's campus as it not only connects students from all facets of campus life, but also allows students to interact with the greater Richmond community and give back to the place we call home for four years,” said Matt Isenburg, a UR student and president of Trick or Treat Street.

Hundreds of children attend this event with their families each year. In lieu of an admission charge, guests are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items or make a monetary donation to FeedMore, a local Richmond food bank.
