UR alumni provide inside look into healthcare industry

October 19, 2017

More than 20 University of Richmond alumni are returning to campus this weekend to share their experiences about clinical and nonclinical career paths in the healthcare industry.

“Deconstructing Health” focuses on navigating the healthcare profession and the skills required to be successful when making connections for an internship or job. Returning alums work at Emory University, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, Boston Children’s Hospital and more.

“We have seen increasing interest from UR students in the healthcare industry over the past few years,” said Brendan Halligan, a career advisor who works with students interested in careers in health. “Hearing directly from alumni who are working in this field will be an invaluable experience for our students.”

Panel Sessions will include:

  • Clinical Careers
  • Graduate Programs
  • Healthcare Consulting & Administration
  • And Public Health, Global Health and Policy

A complete list of the panelists and times is available online.

The series of panel discussions is Saturday, Oct. 21 in Tyler Haynes Commons, Alice Haynes Room from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
