'Happiness and Business in Denmark' discussion part of #URGoesDanish week at University of Richmond

The Danes have long been recognized as one of the happiest peoples on the planet, all while being leaders in innovation and business around the globe.

The University of Richmond is holding a discussion on “Happiness and Business in Denmark” Nov. 14 from noon to 1:15 p.m. in the Carole Weinstein International Center Commons. This event is part of UR’s weeklong celebration of Danish Culture Nov. 13-17 during International Education Week.

Keith McIntosh, UR’s Chief Information Officer and vice president for Information Services, will interview Søren Bregenholt, corporate vice president of the Danish company Novo Nordisk, ranked as the world’s most sustainable company and one of the best companies to work for. McIntosh and Bregenholt met through a leadership program.

Bregenholt is responsible for his company’s strategy and activities for securing access to external innovation through commercial licensing, university collaboration and public-private partnerships. He also is responsible for Novo Nordisk’s global R&D-based doctoral and post-doctoral programs, as well as research, innovation and educational policy.

“In addition to being an accomplished scientist, researcher and business person, Søren is down to earth.” McIntosh said. “He is well traveled, adores his family and is an avid cyclist. He knows how to create balance.”
