ChinaFest celebrates Chinese art and culture; film weekend at UR

The 13th annual ChinaFest, which promotes better understanding between the people of the United States and China, will be held Feb. 8-11.

The event includes ChinaFest Film Weekend, which features a lineup of classic and contemporary Chinese film titles screened with English subtitles at the University of Richmond. The films are curated by UR faculty members Jessica Chan and Gengsong Gao.

Films, which are screened in the Robins School of Business, Ukrop Auditorium, include:

Feb. 9

  • “9-Man” at 3 p.m. The film’s director, Ursula Liang, will lead an introduction and post-film discussion.
  • “Nightingale” at 7:30 p.m.

Feb. 10

  • “A Simple Life” at 10:30 a.m.
  • “A Great Wall” at 1 p.m.

Feb. 11

  • “Drunken Master” at 7:30 p.m.
