UR Ranks in Top 25 for Liberal Arts and Best Value by U.S. News & World Report; Undergraduate Business Jumps More Than 10 spots

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND ─ U.S. News & World Report’s Best Colleges 2022 guide has ranked the University of Richmond #22 overall among national liberal arts colleges for the second year in a row. This ranking is UR’s highest from U.S. News. UR ranked #23 in the 2018 and 2020 guides and #32 in 2016.

The University of Richmond also again ranked #25 for “Best Value” among national liberal arts colleges, tying the spot from last year. Richmond is one of a few institutions in the U.S. with both a "need-blind" admission policy and a guarantee to meet 100 percent of demonstrated need for traditional undergraduate applicants.

Richmond snagged additional high marks in several categories, including coming in at #16 among national liberal arts colleges on the “Most Innovative Schools” list. This category highlights colleges that are making the most innovative improvements in terms of curriculum, faculty, students, campus life, technology, or facilities.

UR was highlighted as #27 in the “Study Abroad” category of the “Academic Programs to Look For” ranking. This accolade applauds schools that involve substantial academic work abroad for credit and value considerable interaction with the local culture. More than 65% of UR students study abroad through semester, short-term, and summer programs. 

Richmond also ranked in the Top 100 for undergraduate business programs at #84, up from #97 last year. Students gain real-world business experience through case competitions, consulting projects, and internships. The school came in at #29 for international business.
