UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND ─ The Fiske Guide to Colleges, a leading college guidebook, has selected the University of Richmond for its 2024 edition. Richmond has been included in the Fiske Guide since the guidebook first launched in the 1980s.

For the past 40 years, Fiske has profiled more than 300 of the “best and most interesting” colleges in the U.S., Canada, and the UK for college-bound students and their families.

The latest guide calls the University of Richmond a “forward-looking campus” and “a force for progressive liberal arts and sciences.”

Fiske showcases Richmond’s commitment to access and affordability through need-blind admissions and meeting full demonstrated financial need.

The guide also notes:

  • Students experience “intellectual rigor that includes small classes, close friendships, and lots of teamwork” and “enjoy close relationships with professors and the absence of teaching assistants in the classroom.”
  • UR is “a pioneer in leadership studies and continues to expand its international emphasis.”
  • Academic offerings include “an interdisciplinary major in health studies [that] focuses on health policy, global health, and epidemiology.”
  • The Richmond Guarantee offers traditional undergrads guaranteed funding of up to $5,000 for at least one summer research or internship experience.
  • “The Student Center for Equity and Inclusion works to support multicultural, LGBTQ, and first-generation students and foster inclusion on campus.”
