Ellucian, the company that owns Banner and Bannerweb, will limit support for version 8 of their products on September 30. Several features used at the University of Richmond will change or move to other applications as a result.
From April 2nd to April 5th, the University of Richmond (UR) sent two students and one staff member to attend the 2025 Women in Cybersecurity (WiCyS) conference in Dallas, TX. WiCyS is an international professional organization with the mission to recruit, retain and advance women in cybersecurity to build a robust cybersecurity workforce.
2024 saw the introduction of support for artificial intelligence (AI) at the University of Richmond, with the publication of usage guidelines for students, faculty, and staff on a new GenAI website and a pilot program for faculty and student use of different AI systems via SpiderAI. A tool for anyone at the University who communicates, MessageAI, was also released (note that you must be on the campus network or VPN to access).
