A look at what the Jepson Class of 2016 is doing after graduation

During Finale and Commencement, Jepson graduates in the Class of 2016 celebrated their accomplishments with pomp and fanfare. The ceremonies marked a transition from one chapter of their lives to the next. So now the caps and gowns have been put away, where is the Jepson Class of 2016?

There isn’t one simple answer to this question. Jepson’s newest graduates joined a network of more than 1,300 Jepson alumni, which spans the globe, and they will pursue studies and careers in all fields and industries.

“The beauty and the curse of a Jepson and a leadership degree is that you have all sorts of doors open, and so for my future, I really plan on exploring a lot of these different options,” said Matthew Logan, ’16, in the Jepson Class of 2016 video. “I am hoping to possibly do some time abroad teaching English with the Peace Corps. After that, hopefully, coming back, maybe going to law school.”

Many students in the Jepson Class of 2016 reported receiving offers from their first choice graduate program or company. Additionally, at least 11 graduates received full-time offers from their Jepson Internship sites.

“I interned at Bloomingdale’s in their buying intern program, and one of the things that was really amazing is that one of the first pieces of advice I was given there was to read everything. It sort of reminded me of the way we approach problems and critical thinking and problem-solving here at Jepson and how I had to really approach everything by looking at it from every angle,” said Emily Chadwick, ’16. “I think that really gave me a leg up at how I approached anything we were trying to tackle, and I think it served me well because I’m heading to work there next year.”

Other examples of organizations Jepson graduates will join include the Denver Math Fellows Program, Grieboski Global Strategies, Protiviti, JP Morgan, and M&T Bank.

Graduates will also pursue advanced degrees at Georgetown University Law Center, University of Denver Sturn College of Law, University of Maryland School of Dentistry, University of Pennsylvania School of Design (Urban and Regional Planning Program), and Washington and Lee School of Law.

While the Jepson Class of 2016 successfully pursues many different paths, they do have one thing in common, which Dean Sandra Peart observed during the 2016 Jepson Finale ceremony: “Whatever you do in the future, we know that you will have the energy, desire, and education to make the world a better place.”
