UR completes construction on WebstUR's Wedding Chapel
Legend has long held that if you kiss someone on the gazebo, you’re destined to marry them. So why not cut to the chase? WebstUR’s Wedding Chapel, a new Vegas-style 24-hour wedding venue, is officially open for business.
Conveniently located in the middle of Westhampton Lake and boasting expansive views of Tyler Haynes Commons and College Road, WebstUR’s Wedding Chapel has everything Spiders need for spontaneous matrimony and a lifetime of happiness.
WebstUR’s makes the biggest decision of your life easy, with on-site catering from Tyler’s, live music from house band Sticky Situation, and your choice of unpredictable water fowl officiant. (Legal Disclaimer: Please do NOT feed the officiants celebratory rice.)
The same-day service caters to busy alumni, faculty, staff, and students who just can’t wait to tie the knot. Recent data suggests that more and more couples are opting out of large and traditional wedding ceremonies, opting instead for quick and intimate waterfront “micro-weddings.”
“Jon and I love that our alma mater is at the forefront of this trend,” said Catherine Estevez, ‘07, who got married on campus last summer. “We’ve already recommended it to our friends, fellow alumni and even strangers on the street who are holding hands. They can’t wait to use it during Reunion Weekend this summer. It’s a total dream!”
So next time you’re in a pinch to get hitched, head on down to the WebstUR’s Wedding Chapel.
(Other legal disclaimer: We love April Fool’s Day almost as much as we love our beautiful campus. If you’re interested in having your real wedding ’mid the pines, contact our Events office for more information about the lovely Cannon Memorial Chapel.)
