“You came to see the future of the end of the world,” remarked Dr. Luna of Universidad Católica at the end of his presentation.

Today we visited two museums to gain a deeper understanding of Chile's past and the brutality of the Pinochet regime. The first site was a former detention facility, which Pinochet used to torture political dissidents. It was both shocking and difficult to learn that many of the people who were brought to the detention center were people in their 20s.

Today we had a meeting with Sergio Bitar at the Rockefeller Ctr. Harvard. It was an honor for me to meet a former minister and senator. Sergio Bitar was the Mine Minister when he was detained as a prisoner of war and later exiled during the Pinochet regime.
