Following the success of its Coding Boot Camp partnership with Trilogy Education Services, the University of Richmond School of Professional & Continuing Studies has launched UR Data Analytics Boot Camp, the School’s newest partnership program with Trilogy.

The 24-week professional certificate program prepares students to conduct analytics on a wide array of real-world problems. The “boot camp” format provides an intensive, immersive classroom experience where students dive into in-demand skills and technologies, like programming in Excel, advanced statistics, Python, SQL, HTML/CSS, Tableau and more.

Coursework is offered part-time in a face-to-face classroom environment. Classes meet two evenings each week, enabling participants to continue working while participating in the program. The 24-week curriculum is divided into six modules over the course of study.

Individually and in collaboration with classmates, students put their new skills to use on comprehensive projects, building a professional portfolio to showcase skills for employers.

Applications to the program are currently being accepted, with the first cohort of students scheduled to begin classes on January 14, 2019. Although no prior experience is required, it’s recommended that applicants hold a bachelor’s degree or have at least two years of experience in business, management, finance, statistics or a related field.

The application process is selective and competitive, and requires applicants to take a critical thinking and problem-solving coding test and complete an interview with a member of the academic team before an admission decision is made.

SPCS has launched UR Data Analytics Boot Camp in response to the need for qualified data analysts in the Central Virginia region. More data has been created in the past two years than in the entire previous history of the human race, and this surge in data has created an equally large demand for skilled professionals who can turn that data into insights. UR Data Analytics Boot Camp helps fill that demand.
