Chip Bryan Named AVP of Financial Aid for University of Richmond
The University of Richmond has selected William (Chip) Bryan as the next assistant vice president and director of Financial Aid.
“Following a national search and dozens of interviews, it was apparent that Chip has the expertise and leadership required to oversee the intricacies of the programs, processes, and policies encountered in the daily operations of the Office of Financial Aid,” said Stephanie Dupaul, vice president for Enrollment Management.
He succeeds Cindy Deffenbaugh, who retired this summer.
Bryan first joined the University in 1995 as a financial aid counselor and has held a number of positions within the department.
“His breadth of experience and knowledge of the University’s complex programs is unmatched,” Dupaul said. “His commitment to our policy of being need blind and meeting full need for students, as well as his history of being an outstanding collaborator, will ensure the office continues a record of excellence in service to students.
Prior to joining the university, Bryan was a grant administrator for the Chesapeake Bay Local Assistance Department. He is an alumnus of the University of Richmond and has a Master of Science from Central Michigan University.
