U.S. News Ranks UR 23rd for National Liberal Arts Colleges; Highlighted in Top 20 for Innovation and Learning Communities
UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND ─ U.S. News & World Report’s Best Colleges 2020 guide ranked the University of Richmond #23 overall and #24 for “Best Value” among national liberal arts colleges.
Richmond also was named to the “Most Innovative Schools” list and ranked #10th among national liberal arts colleges. This category highlights colleges that are making the most innovative improvements in terms of curriculum, faculty, students, campus life, technology, or facilities. The ranking is the result of a peer assessment survey completed by college presidents, provosts, and admissions deans.
The University of Richmond was highlighted on the Learning Communities list, coming in at #20. The guide notes, “Some colleges and universities are much more determined than others to provide undergrads with the best possible educational experience, recognizing that certain enriched offerings from learning communities … are linked to success.” In learning communities, students typically take two or more linked courses as a group and get to know one another and their professors well.
Richmond also was included on the Campus Ethnic Diversity list for national liberal arts colleges, coming in at #61.
The University of Richmond consistently is ranked as a top-tier liberal arts university and a “best value” by Kiplinger’s Personal Finance, Smart Money magazine, Forbes, and other leading college guides.
