University of Richmond Recognized as One of the Healthiest Campuses Among U.S. Colleges and Universities by National Nonprofit
UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND – The University of Richmond is a recipient of the 2020 Active Minds Healthy Campus Award.
Presented by Active Minds, a leading nonprofit organization that supports mental health awareness and education for young adults, the award recognizes University of Richmond’s proven commitment to excellence in prioritizing and promoting the health and well-being of their students.
“The creation of a thriving, inclusive community is a core priority of our university and we are committed to the holistic well-being of our students, faculty, and staff,” said Tom Roberts, associate vice president for health and well-being. “The University of Richmond is at the forefront of exploring modern approaches to health and well-being.”
Healthy Campus Award recipients are assessed by a panel of researchers and health and higher education experts. The University of Richmond joins four other colleges and universities who received this year’s Healthy Campus Award.
“The University of Richmond stands out for its efforts to integrate wellness into services and proactive prevention efforts throughout the student experience and the curriculum," said Alison Malmon, executive director and founder of Active Minds. “Richmond is a model for the impact colleges can have by prioritizing a campus culture that promotes and protects the physical and mental health of its students.”
