UR Awarded $500K grant for Gary L. McDowell Institute
UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND — The University of Richmond has received a $500,000 grant from The Pauley Family Foundation to support programming for the Gary L. McDowell Institute at the Jepson School of Leadership Studies.
The Gary L. McDowell Institute is co-directed by Daniel Palazzolo, professor of political science and interim dean of the School of Arts & Sciences, and Terry Price, professor of leadership studies and philosophy, politics, economics, and law and Coston Family Chair in Leadership and Ethics. “We are deeply grateful to The Pauley Family Foundation for this generous gift, which will support the mission of the McDowell Institute,” said Palazzolo.
Named for the late professor of leadership studies Gary L. McDowell, the Institute continues McDowell’s commitment to exploring diverse viewpoints in ethics, law, and politics through a prominent lecture series, faculty seminars, and a student fellows program.
“This grant is very significant for the University. It will allow the Institute to serve as a cross-school hub to support the exchange of ideas among faculty and students with diverse perspectives,” said Price.
