University of Richmond Receives Top Award for its Chapter of the National Leadership Honor Society ODK
UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND — The University of Richmond’s chapter of Omicron Delta Kappa, a national leadership honor society, has been awarded a 2024 Presidential Award of Excellence.
Awarded by the national ODK chapter, the Presidential Award celebrates achievements of UR’s local circle, The Epsilon Circle, during the 2023-2024 academic year and for meeting ODK’s high standards of excellence for five or more years. UR’s circle has received various prestigious awards from the national chapter for more than 20 years.
ODK encourages collaboration among members across these five pillars of leadership —academics and research, athletics, service to campus and community, communications, and creative and performing arts.
ODK has more than 300 circles at colleges and universities across the United States. UR has the fifth oldest circle in the nation. Less than 5% of eligible students (among the top 35% of their class for undergraduates) receive an invitation to join. The membership is lifelong.
“Our Epsilon Circle students receive many opportunities to grow their leadership skills, including workshops, career development, and connection to other members, who are fellow students, but also faculty, staff, and alumni,” said Ray Trac, associate dean of Richmond College. “ODK is a good fit for students at UR because it mirrors many of our own top campus values, including collaboration, inclusivity, integrity, scholarship, and service.”
