University of Richmond’s Jepson School of Leadership Studies to Host History of Economics Society Conference June 27–30
UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND — The Jepson School of Leadership Studies will host the 52nd annual meeting of the History of Economics Society June 27–30.
The primary goals of the society include:
- promoting interest in and inquiry into the history of economics and related parts of intellectual history;
- facilitating communication and discourse among scholars working in the field of the history of economics; and
- disseminating knowledge about the history of economics.
More than 100 registrants from all over the world are attending the conference, which was held in Santiago, Chile, last year.
“We are delighted to host this important international gathering and welcome historians of economics from across the globe to our campus,” said Sandra Peart, dean of the Jepson School and a past president of HES. “It’s not often that you have a chance to have so many distinguished colleagues in one place working toward the shared goals of advancing our field.”
University of Richmond President Kevin F. Hallock, a labor market economist, will give remarks at the welcome reception on Friday, June 27, at the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond. The conference sessions, which include topics ranging from agriculture to economic development, will be held on the University of Richmond campus on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.
