University of Richmond School of Professional & Continuing Studies Launches New Online Tech Bootcamps

July 25, 2025

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND — The University of Richmond School of Professional & Continuing Studies is launching a series of accelerated, fully online technology bootcamps in collaboration with Flatiron School this fall.

Flatiron School is a leader in tech education, offering immersive online programs designed for professionals looking to grow existing skillsets or advance their careers.

The noncredit programs offered by SPCS and Flatiron School will provide intensive technology training in artificial intelligence, data science, software engineering, game design, and game programming. The bootcamps are designed so that students gain skills in months rather than years.

“Tech bootcamps are an essential part of today’s education landscape,” said Jamelle Wilson, dean of the School of Professional & Continuing Studies. “They offer a fast and focused pathway to high-demand tech fields. Whether someone is making a career change, upskilling, or entering the workforce for the first time, our goal is to provide accessible, hands-on training and education that meets the needs of both learners and employers.”

With flexible schedules and small class sizes, each bootcamp balances theory with hands-on projects that mirror real-world challenges. Students enrolling in the bootcamps will also benefit from career support services catered directly to tech professionals, including one-on-one mentoring, resume workshops, and mock interviews.

Enrollment is now open for the first cohort starting September 1, 2025. Visit flatiron.richmond.edu to learn more.
