UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND — Miguel “Mickey” Quiñones, dean of the University of Richmond Robins School of Business, has announced his plans to step down as dean at the end of the 2025–26 academic year. Quiñones has served as the business school dean since 2019 and will remain on the UR faculty as a professor of management, following a sabbatical.
“I am grateful to Mickey for his leadership, collaboration, commitment, and contributions to the Robins School of Business, and for his dedication to our faculty, staff, and students,” said Joan Saab, executive vice president and provost. “The Robins School has a strong foundation for continued success.”
During Quiñones’s tenure, the Robins School has experienced a period of innovation, renewal, and growth. Robins School highlights under his leadership include:
- Launch of the Robins Endeavor living-learning community, Spider Business Hub, Bench Top Innovations course, and Digital Marketing Practicum, each expanding opportunities for experiential learning and student engagement.
- Introduction of new programs, including the Master of Science in Management, new entrepreneurship and professional sales initiatives, and expanded global engagement through the International Partner Immersion Program.
- Establishment of the Department of Analytics and Operations to strengthen data-driven and technology-focused education.
During Quiñones’s time as dean, the Robins School’s Poets&Quants for Undergrads undergraduate business ranking rose from No. 26 in 2020 to No. 17 in 2025, the highest position to date. The Robins School was also recognized by Poets&Quants for Undergrads as one of “10 Undergraduate Business Schools to Watch.”
The University will soon launch a national search to identify the next Robins School of Business dean.
