University of Richmond Ranked by Peace Corps as 2026 Top Volunteer-Producing Colleges and Universities

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND — University of Richmond is ranked No. 10 among small-sized schools on the Peace Corps’ 2026 Top Volunteer-Producing Colleges and Universities list. UR is ranked in the top 10 on this list for the second year in a row.
During the past fiscal year, eight Spiders served in seven countries around the world, including Cambodia, the Dominican Republic, Eastern Caribbean, Indonesia, Peru, Tanzania, and Zambia.
According to data provided by the Peace Corps, 174 UR alumni have served abroad as volunteers since 1961, when the Peace Corps was founded.
Peace Corps volunteers help communities around the world by addressing a variety of needs through development projects focused on agriculture, community economic development, education, environment, health, and youth.
“We are grateful to partner with colleges and universities across the nation who instill the value of national service in their students, inspiring them to pursue their purpose post-graduation,” said Peace Corps acting Director Richard E. Swarttz.
