University of Richmond Announces Tyler Betzhold as Executive Director of Dining Services
UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND — Tyler Betzhold will serve as the University of Richmond’s Executive Director of Dining Services.
Betzhold brings more than 20 years of experience in dining services to this role, including 17 years of service with the University. His roles at UR have included senior catering chef, executive chef, and most recently, interim executive director of dining services.
“It has been a privilege to contribute to one of the nation’s top-ranked dining programs, and I am excited for the opportunity to lead this work at the highest level,” said Betzhold. “The Dining Services team and I are focused on advancing the program in meaningful and innovative ways to continue elevating the student experience and reflecting the excellence of our university."
During his tenure on the leadership team in Dining Services, he has overseen dining and catering operations across campus and helped the team achieve national recognition, including three Loyal E. Horton Dining Awards from the National Association of College & University Food Services in 2025.
“Tyler’s deep knowledge of our award-winning, self-operated dining program, along with the strong relationships he has built across campus and his commitment to culinary excellence, service, and employee development position him well to lead the continued success and strategic direction of Dining Services,” said Paul Lozo, senior associate vice president of campus operations.
