University of Richmond Seniors Head to Leading Companies and Top Graduate Schools Around the World
Weekend ceremonies May 9 and 10 celebrate more than 1,000 graduates.
UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND — The University of Richmond will award more than 1,000 degrees during Commencement ceremonies on May 9 and 10.
The University expects to award the following degrees:
- 861 undergraduate bachelor’s degrees from the School of Arts & Sciences, Robins School of Business, and Jepson School of Leadership Studies;
- 11 bachelor’s degrees and 53 master’s degrees through the School of Professional & Continuing Studies; and
- 136 juris doctor degrees from the Richmond School of Law.
Graduate Outcomes
From Nashville to Singapore and Chicago to Madrid, graduating seniors are heading to jobs and graduate schools around the world. The Class of 2026 has secured opportunities at highly coveted companies and organizations, including Barclays, Deloitte, Goldman Sachs, Google, McKinsey & Company, and Teach for America. Students are continuing their education at some of the world’s premier graduate institutions, including Duke, Georgetown, Harvard, Johns Hopkins, Oxford, University of Pennsylvania, University of Chicago, University of Virginia, and Yale.
By the Numbers
- 30 graduating seniors received prestigious scholarships or fellowships for national or international study, research, or service, for example, a Goldwater scholarship or a Fulbright award.
- Through study abroad, research, and internship programs around the world, 73% of the Class of 2026 (613 students) studied abroad with university support. This number includes both short trips and semester-long experiences.
- 85% of the Class of 2026 participated in at least one internship or summer research experience, including at Booz Allen Hamilton in D.C., the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Boston, and the United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland.
- 127 Arts & Sciences seniors presented their academic research at this year’s A&S Symposium.
- The Jepson School of Leadership Studies Class of 2026 comprises 61 majors and 22 minors, including five students who received full scholarships to University of Oxford master’s programs and 10 students who completed senior leadership studies honors research theses.
- 100% of business school graduates participated in at least one experiential learning opportunity, either as part of their degree studies or outside the traditional classroom experience. Examples include the Spider Business Hub, Student Managed Investment Fund, Student Managed ETF, Bench Top Innovations, capstone projects, student-faculty research, case competitions, and practicums.
- Approximately 21% of law school graduates earned the Carrico Center Pro Bono Certificate, which recognizes students who complete at least 120 hours of service during their three years of law school. Collectively, the Class of 2026 Pro Bono Certificate recipients have performed more than 3,700 hours of service.
- Graduates of the Educational Leadership and Policy Studies program in the School of Professional & Continuing Studies completed more than 6,000 hours of practicum, gaining exceptional leadership experience in five public school divisions and multiple independent schools throughout the Richmond region.
- Seniors in the Bonner Scholars Program served with 27 unique nonprofit organizations in the Richmond region during their four years.
