University of Richmond Ranked as a Top 50 Green College
UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND — The Princeton Review has recognized the University of Richmond as one of the top 50 schools in the nation for environmental responsibility in the 2026 edition of its annual Guide to Green Colleges.
Colleges in the Top 50 Green Colleges list are recognized for having strong sustainability practices, sustainability education, and a healthy quality of life for students on campus. Colleges are selected based on a combination of school-reported data and institutional and student surveys.
“Across campus, there are countless ways that students can engage with real-world environmental stewardship,” said Director of Sustainability Rob Andrejewski. “That’s thanks to our students, staff, and community partners who all consistently show their passion and dedication to creating a dedicated culture of sustainability and well-being on campus.”
UR’s Office for Sustainability drives sustainability strategy and leads year-round initiatives dedicated to the health and wellness of both the environment and UR’s students. This includes events, guest lectures, academic research opportunities across disciplines, community engagement, and more.
“Nearly 75% of academic departments offer courses related to sustainability, and in an effort to support experiential learning, many courses at UR are working to use the campus as a living lab,” said Andrejewski.
The University of Richmond has been ranked among the top 50 schools for four consecutive years, and has been recognized in this guide for more than a decade.
